Mae Mobley might say about her chilhood, that she was raised by a colored woman, who take good care of her. A woman who was always there, treating her kindly, and lovinly. She may also say, that she tried to get her mother's attention, but she was not interested in her daughter. That her mother was there to critized her. And that even though her father was married to her mother, she didn't see him much.
